Local archery shops

Some general sports shops and fishing-tackle shops sell archery equipment. We advise you against buying from these, since they generally don't know anything about archery. In many cases, their equipment is poor and overpriced. Archery equipment is best bought from archery specialists.

There are just two specialist archery shops in Yorkshire.

Aardvark Archery is run by Lez Newsome and Neil Crickmore. The shop is in Farsley, near Pudsey between Leeds and Bradford. Go into Stanningley, drive down Bagley Lane and look for a tower with "Springfield" painted on it - this is Springfield Commercial Centre. Aardvark is signposted from the rear car park.

Note that Aardvark Archery is closed on Sundays, Tuesdays and Public Holidays. Open late on Wednesdays.

Top Tox is a long-established shop run by Jim Routledge, county coach and vice-president of the Yorkshire Archery Association. It's a branch of Wales Archery. The shop is in Drighlington, south of Leeds and close to junction 27 of the M62. It's close to a tall chimney with "Old Brickworks" painted on it. Look out for a small archery target hanging by the roadside and go into the driveway there.

Note that Top Tox is closed on Sundays, Mondays and Public Holidays.
